I have served on the Peralta Community College Board for the past eight years. During that time, I have worked for fiscal responsibility and open processes. This is even more important today in light of drastic State budget funding cuts. That's why I pushed for an internal auditor and transparent and standardized reporting systems. I'm proud to say this due diligence has paid off. Because of improved financial accounting systems, our bond rating has been upgraded to AA-.

I am an outspoken advocate for students and education. The success of our students has inspired me to work on innovative methods of raising funds from grants to business partnerships, work that is paying off.

When re-elected, I pledge to continue working for all students: those transferring to a four year college, those training for the job market or those seeking life enrichment. In these challenging times we need a strong and independent voice representing Area 3 on the Peralta Board. With your help, I will be that voice. I respectfully ask for your vote.
